Cloud Kissing

I went cloud kissing, and I got lost in the clouds over the Malibu coastline — and there, in the blue, I saw her face. She came the way faces come in clouds: half dream, half gift. And she was looking back at me in recognition — as if she had known me all along — and I fell in love. I only followed with the pigment, pure Moroccan blue worked into the paper by hand, until she was there on the page, looking back still. Original drawing on paper, from my sketchbook. One of a kind — when it’s gone, it’s gone.
